State Commission To Consider One Buck Limit
July 6th, 2006 by Administrator
Deer hunters who campaigned for changes in their sport may get some answers on Thursday.

The Natural Resources Commission meets in Big Rapids to consider some controversial rule changes.
The first proposal would limit hunters in the UP to one buck per year. The second would reduce the number of UP antlerless tags by 5000.
The proposal rule changes come from the reduced deer harvest in recent years and complaints about it from hunters.
Limiting the deer licenses and overall hunting activity might improve hunting in the years ahead, but it could harm businesses such as restaurants, motels and gas stations.
The Commission will take those concerns into consideration.
