Seventh Annual Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival to Take Place at EAA Convention Grounds August 26, 27 & 28
OSHKOSH, Wis.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 17, 2005–The Seventh Annual Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival is set to take place at the EAA Convention Grounds, Friday, August 26, Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28. The Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival is made up of nine villages filled with activities, seminars, demonstrations and exhibitions of industry related products. From fly-fishing clinics and retriever dog demonstrations to shooting sports and archery, outdoor enthusiasts can participate in dozens of hands-on sporting activities.
Attendees at the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival can test their skills in nine specialized Festival villages. Novice to experienced sportsmen can try the latest products in real-life conditions and receive coaching from skilled professionals. Festival highlights include:
– ATV Village - Test drive the latest ATVs on a specially designed dirt track complete with mud pits, hills, ruts and logs.
– The Outdoor Channel Off-Road/4×4 Village - Drive the latest trucks and SUVs on a specially designed off-road track.
– Fishing Village - Paddle a canoe or kayak around the lake and learn the latest fly-fishing, spin casting and bait casting techniques.
– Biking & Camping Village - Check out the latest camping gear, climb rock walls and test ride the newest makes and models of mountain bikes on a specially designed off-road course.
– Suzuki Archery Village - Experience archery and see the Master of the Longbow, Byron Ferguson.
– Nissan Sporting Dog Village - Elite canine athletes from all over the country will be competing in the DockDogs(R) Big Air Competition for a chance to set the new world record in canine long jumping and win $5,000 by accomplishing a 28-foot jump.
– Dodge Shooting Sports Village - Test out the latest shotguns, rifles and handguns and see demonstrations from world-renowned shooter Tom Knapp.
– Exhibitor Village - Check out the latest accessories, gear and gadgets for hunting, fishing and camping from a wide range of local, regional and national exhibitors. Let local chefs tantalize your tastes with wild-game dishes at the cooking demonstrations.
– Conservation Village - Features local, regional and national conservation organizations.
– Special Kid Zones in the villages have activities and equipment for young outdoor enthusiasts to try.
The Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival will take place August 26, 27 and 28, at the EAA Convention Grounds, 3000 Poberezny Road in Oshkosh, WI 54901. Festival hours are: Friday, August 26, noon - 7 p.m.; Saturday, August 27, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.; and Sunday, August 28, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets are $15/adult and $8/child (6-12). Parking at the event is $5. Children five & under and dogs on a lead are admitted free.
